With the motto of Odyssey 2016, the DMY International Design Festival Berlin will take place from June 2 – June 5 at Kraftwerk Berlin. For the first time, the long-standing DMY-Festival is opening its presentation platforms Showroom, Store, New Talents, Education, LAB, Berlin Design Expo und Design Spots to ideas, projects and products from virtually all design disciplines. The products and works on show range from product and industrial design to fashion and graphic design as well as communication design and digital creation. The festival kicks off on June 2, 2016 at noon (12 am). At 2:30 pm Lecture with Lesley Pennington (Founder & CEO Bemz): „Open Innovation – A Key To Success For Design Companies“ At 3 pm Andreas Tölke is hosting a Design-Talk on „Odyssey 2016 – Think Local, Act Local!“ – Guests: Florian Hoffmann (Do School), Wolfram Putz (GRAFT Architects), Andreas Kolb (ABURY Foundation), Prof. Elizabeth Sikiaridi und Prof. Frans Vogelaar (both Hybrid Space Lab Berlin). At 6 pm on the same day, the Grand Opening Party is set to kick off with the official opening of the festival, the DMY Award Show as well as the ALL-NIGHT-PARTY with the DJ-collective ILMSOA (= I Lost My Shoes On Acid) at the turntables. DJs: Still Deep, Nirel Nica, Joan Bernat. The DMY Summer Garden offers a delicious Food Court (food trucks with meat dishes, as well as vegan and vegetarian dishes), refreshing drinks and a lounge area. And for the opening party, Hendricks Gin and qbo-coffee will be spoiling the visitors with free drinks. DMY holds the yearly DMY International Design Festival in Berlin in spring, which has established itself into a scene-meeting place, trend barometer, design laboratory and playground over the years.
