Musical Theater Society Berlin was founded in January 2019 by Lauren. Missing producing and performing musical theater in her native UK, she founded MTS as a space for new and long-standing Berliners from around the world to share their passion for musicals and make theater together in their mutual language of English.

We aim to be accessible to anyone who wants to do musical theater! Our business status allows us to keep the financial cost of participation flexible. This especially matters to us since many of our members are students or up-and-coming artists—we want to be able to provide a stepping-stone into the professional theater world. Following a one time admin fee, membership is completely flexible, our members can jump in and out of whichever shows they want without the up-front commitment to year-long productions. Our costs—from licensing shows, to renting rehearsal and performance space, to producing costumes and sets—are covered by the combination of these administrative fees and proceeds from previous productions.While our core team is made up of volunteers, we also love working with (compensated!) professionals from across the theater industry who lead many of our workshops, masterclasses, and courses. We’ve worked with well known artists, coaches, and performers from 5 countries with over 60 combined years of experience.
