AufBruch — 35. Heidelberger Symposium

The Heidelberg Symposium - a three-day series of events with lectures, panel discussions, workshops and a cultural program - has been an integral part of student life in Heidelberg since 1989. The symposium enables you to engage withmany exciting disciplines in an interdisciplinary way . In addition, you have space for interdisciplinary exchange, discussions and get-togethers in our marquee.

This year's theme is "AufBruch". Our opening event this year is with Prof. Dr. Eckart von Hirschhausen, the university rector Prof. Dr. Frauke Melchior and Dr. Jens Brandenburg. The closing speaker is the editor-in-chief of TITANIC, Julia Mateus.

There will also be many other talks on hot topics such as "4-day week - can we afford to work less?" (with Dr. Hannah Schade, industrial psychologist and Dr. Eike Windscheid-Profeta, Hans Böckler Foundation), "(Survival) on Mars" (Dr. Christiane Heinicke, participant in the one-year NASA simulation of life on Mars) or "Intelligence services at the turn of the century" (with ARD terrorism expert Georg Mascolo, among others). To makethe whole thing even more interesting , the programalso includespanel discussions such as "AufBruch der Kirchen - wohin führt der Weg der Erneuerung?", as well as lectures such as "Für eine Politik der Selbstbestimmung - Rechte queere Menschen in Deutschland" and workshops such as "Hypnose-Workshop", "Yoga-Workshop" and "Besuch der Synagoge in Heidelberg".

You can enjoy free catering on all days of the event (breakfast, vegan lunch, coffee and vegan cake as well as dinner) and a colorful evening program consisting of ascience pub quiz (as a pre-opening on 22.05.), live podcast, magic slam and live music. All included in the ticket price!

Tickets are available on our website and at our waffle stands (Mon. to Fri., 12 to 2 pm) at the Zentralmensa (INF), the Pädagogische Hochschule and at the Marstall (Altstadt). Prices for a 3-day ticket: regular 30€, reduced* 18€, day ticket 15€, reduced 9€ (prices for advance booking).

Support the symposium by working two helper shifts - you will receive your ticket and a T-shirt free of charge.
