Workshop: Wilde Vulven

In the organizer's words:

EN
In this workshop we will focus on the vulva. There will be space for exchange in a safe space. Using colorful fabrics, we will create our own powerful vulva artwork, which each participant can then take home with them.

A vulva can cause pleasure and pain, agony and ecstasy. For the majority of people, it is the gateway to the world. Despite this, this part of the human body has been associated with shame and impurity for centuries, banned from stories, art and social discourse. Be it the taboo subject of menstruation, the trend towards plastic vulva reductions, practised genital mutilation, the ban on abortions, the misrepresentation in textbooks, the suppression of self-determined sexuality and gender identities beyond the binary... the negative effects of the "domestication" of the vulva, which has been practised for centuries, are long. To this day, people with vulvas are denied the opportunity to enjoy their bodies and be aware of their power. And at the same time, there are always traditions, depictions and narratives of self-determined, powerful, wild vulvas that give us courage - we just have to look, listen and feel very carefully. The work of Wilde Vulven takes precisely this as its starting point and motivation. Her work focuses on the beauty and power of the vulva, with its unique shapes and abilities. The Wilde Vulven art project also focuses on workshops for FLINTA*, in which a safe space is created for exchange, encounters and empowerment, but also for the creative design of a very own, powerful vulva made of fabric.

Please note that the workshop is limited to a maximum of 10 participants. To register, please send an e-mail to: mehves.ungan@hdkv.de

The work of Wilde Vulven is rooted in acknowledging the celebration of the beauty and strength of the vulva. In her workshop where the focus will be on the beauty and power of the vulva, with its unique forms and abilities, participants will be weaving a vulva together. Wilde Vulven's art projects create a safe space for FLINTA* individuals, fostering exchange, encounters, and empowerment, while also providing an opportunity for creative expression through the design of fabric vulvas.
