Alte Bekannte

Alte Bekannte are without doubt one of the most extraordinary phenomena on the concert scene. The quintet celebrates their German-language a cappella songs with an incomparable authenticity, in which EVERYTHING! is produced with human voices without exception, including the rhythm accompaniment. At the same time, Alte Bekannte have continued a long-standing tradition since their successful launch in 2018 as the legitimate successors to the disbanded Wise Guys, as two original Wise Guys singers, Daniel 'Dän' Dickopf and Björn Sterzenbach, are also founding members of Alte Bekannte.

Since the end of the lockdown in July 2021, Alte Bekannte have played well over 160 concerts. Their successful 2023 tour (motto: 'Nothing beats LIVE!') will continue in 2024 with the same high intensity. In their shows, they present a variety of their own songs - the focus is currently on the current, fourth album 'Stabil' (2023; number 23 in the German album charts) - as well as some unforgettable Wise Guys classics.

THE SINGERS

Björn Sterzenbach (41): Situated in the lower midfield of the band in terms of age, Björn is usually responsible for the musical foundation on stage as the bass, whereby he provides a "proper groove" for many songs by combining bass vocals and beatbox ("mouth drums"). Thanks to his variable vocal range, Björn also shines as a soloist far above the bass range. Away from the stage, he takes care of organizational matters and chooses the band's stage outfits with great style.

Clemens Schmuck (51): If you hear noises, sounds or beats during an Alte Bekannte concert that you can hardly imagine were produced by a human voice, it is almost certainly Clemens who is responsible for them. Clemens is the band's biggest beatbox specialist, and almost all of the live arrangements are written by him. He composes many of the band's songs and is now also active as a songwriter.

Daniel "Dän" Dickopf (53): Dän, founding member and creative head of the legendary Wise Guys, writes most of the lyrics and many of the compositions and leads through the program on stage as the main host.

Friedemann Petter (34): The youngest band member joined the band in 2020 and has also proven himself as a composer of popular old acquaintance songs such as "Lehrerkind" and "Ja ja Stress". Friedemann lowers the average age and improves the athletic appearance of Alte Bekannte, while his voice (semi-finalist on "The Voice of Germany" 2016), charm and stage presence have won over fans in no time at all.

Ingo Wolfgarten (49): Ingo often provides the really big emotions on stage vocally, and not just when he rededicates Whitney Houston's "I will always love you" to his Eifel homeland. As the producer of the albums, he is mainly responsible for the sound of Alte Bekannte and produces almost everything the band releases. Even the design and layout of the current CD "Stabil" are Ingo's work.
