Arnd Zeigler was found in a wicker basket under the east curve of Bremen's Weser Stadium in 1965. He still lives in the Weser Stadium today. Because he simply didn't want to leave, he is now the stadium announcer. This means that he watches all SV Werder Bremen soccer matches and is allowed to shout. It's also what he does best.
When Arnd isn't shouting in the Weser stadium, he watches soccer on TV at home. And shouts around. And because he watches more soccer than anyone else on our blue planet, he dives into "Zeigler's Wonderful World of Football" week after week to share the everyday madness that is soccer with normal people. The TV show is broadcast on Sundays at 10.15 pm on WDR and was nominated for the "Grimme Prize" in 2010 and 2011. A radio series of the same name has been broadcast weekly for many years on the programs of Radio Bremen, HR 3, SWR 1, Bayern 3, SR 1, MDR Sputnik and WDR "Eins Live".
Those who don't know Arnd assume that he is vegetating in a thicket of old pennants, Panini collector's albums, leather footballs and bizarre soccer records. Those who know him well know that this is actually the case.
The passionate pop music junkie and music collector hosted his own show "Zeigler's Wonderful World of Pop" on Radio Bremen Vier for five years, writes books and publishes soccer CDs, writes columns for various magazines and is the lyricist and interpreter of the Werder stadium anthems "Das W auf dem Trikot" and "Lebenslang grün-weiß".
In 2011, Arnd Zeigler was voted "Sports Journalist of the Year".
