The League of Ordinary Gentlemen ... are they troglodytes who sing about shirts, ice cream and vacations with holy seriousness? Are they completely out of time, with their DIY sound distilled from scratched old Madness, 60s pop, A&M and Northern Soul records? Or are they modern for that very reason? Isn't it precisely because of their stubbornness that they always create something original, something new, something modern? Yes, yes and yes again! one would like to exclaim after listening to "Gschichterln aus dem Park Café". The League of Ordinary Gentlemen is the biggest little pop band in the world! Or at least the biggest little pop band in West Hamburg.
