In the artist's words:

Hans-Peter Waldrich, born in 1944, studied political science, philosophy, geography and German language and literature at the universities of Munich, Frankfurt am Main and Freiburg i. Br. He completed his doctorate on the question of the understanding of democracy in Marxism-Leninism in the German Democratic Republic. He has worked at educational institutions (Protestant Academy, grammar schools) and as a lecturer at the Federal Office for Civilian Service and the University of Karlsruhe as well as a research assistant at the University of Education. From 2008 to 2012, he was the state chairman of Aktion Humane Schule Baden-Württemberg (AHS) in the field of reform pedagogy. One focus of his work is the issues and problems of nuclear armament. He sees himself as a peace activist. He has published numerous books.
