On her new EP "life lately", katyadotcom gives us a glimpse into her diary of the past year - six emotional songs tumble towards us like hastily pasted Polaroids.

On "25 yrs on earth" we meet an artist who, despite heartbreaks, has the courage to trust her feelings and intuition. Deep in the German West, her heart has now found a home and the cozy, warm mid-tempo groove on the opening track "heavy blankets" is an excellent remedy for homesickness for her Austrian homeland.

On "ride my bike" katyadotcom swings herself onto the carrier of the Essen dance pop aficionados from DOTE and as a listener you melt away when her nuanced vocals give way to those of boyfriend/soulmate Lukas on the second verse. If it fits, then it fits: "fuck, I feel so fine", katyadotcom croons on "I miss me" and reminds us how important it is to have a place to retreat to in a crazy world. Predecessor "bloom" is like a sundowner in the garden at home that you simply can't refuse her.
can't refuse. "falling 4 u" has the potential to be a festival hit, in which the rhythm section of her band is just behind the beat (preferably in "blokecore fit").

katyadotcom presents itself as carefree and versatile: indie vibes of the 2010s meet playfulness and zillennial verve with GDWM nonchalance. The new EP passes quickly, like a cool breeze in the heat, and makes you look forward to further releases. "josef" - a poignant ballad about saying goodbye - leaves listeners moved and shows the full range of katyadotcom's emotional world. The artist is undoubtedly one of the most exciting newcomers of 2024!
