Lui Hill

In the artist's words:

"The reddest thread in all of this is probably me." That's the answer LUI HILL gives when you ask about a theme in his art, his music, his lyrics. This common thread began in his childhood, in the rehearsal room that his father built with his own hands and which gave his love of music enough room to grow as a child. His life then passed through various stages: At the age of twelve, LUI HILL became the frontman of a punk band and shortly afterwards discovered a passion for drums and jazz. This was followed by jazz studies and touring experience as a drummer for various projects. Over time, he moved to Berlin and produced his first autobiographical album. HILL dealt with the end of a relationship, his family and the death of his father. Honesty that was not always easy to digest, but which built up such a closeness to the artist and his music that you almost wanted to escape yourself. An album out of a state of shock. But you could sense the light at the end of the tunnel. His 2021 EP "Creatures" shone in this light. Music from what comes after the darkness. With newfound energy, in contrast to the melancholy and heaviness that preceded it. You hear a whole lot of fun, you hear a different phase of life.
