Mo-Torres

Moritz Helf grew up in the Ehrenfeld district of Cologne^{[ and} attended the Montessori grammar school in the Bickendorf district from 2000 to 2008. The name Mo-Torres is made up of the short form of Moritz, i.e. Mo and Torres. The Torres part of the name originated in his childhood. This was due to his father's Spanish roots and his visits to Andalusia. As he was very tall and rather lanky, the children there called him El Torre, meaning the tower.

In mid-2011, he released the self-produced album Moralapostel, on which he is supported by Timeless, among others. He became better known through the publication of his songs on the video platform YouTube. In 2011, he won the "Cashmo pumps the beat" contest. On October 26, 2012, his album Ambivalenz was released via his own crew 571 Edelweiss. Guest appearances on the album included fellow rappers Timeless, Nekst86, Cashmo and others. The instrumentals and beats were created by Johnny Pepp and Jumpa, among others. In addition to local appearances, he also performed nationwide.

On July 10, 2015, his second album Irgendwo Dazwischen was released in physical and digital form. Mo-Torres then released various songs and EPs without label support. In 2018, he decided to found his own label for the release of the album 4 Wände. This bears the name USMVEEDEL. Mo-Torres supported and sang several times together with rapper Timeless, for example on the song Kein Berg zu hoch or In meiner Hand.

In addition to releases such as Irgendwo Dazwischen and 4 Wände, Mo-Torres has also released songs about 1. FC Köln. He produced the unofficial fan promotion song 1. Bundesliga, wir sind wieder da!(Döp Dö Dö Dö Dö) for Sytros, written to the melody of L'amour toujours by Gigi D'Agostino. (Döp Dö Dö Döp)- A remixed maxi CD version was released by ZYX Music together with Eko Fresh, Sülo der Boss, Venloerstross and Jumbo Star, through which he became better known in soccer circles.

In 2016, Mo-Torres released the single Liebe deine Stadt, a city anthem for Cologne, together with Cat Ballou and Lukas Podolski. The single reached number 26 in the German singles charts. In addition, Liebe deine Stadt was the most downloaded German song on the weekend of its release. They presented the song at a RheinStars Köln match and before the home game of 1. FC Köln against Borussia Dortmund. During the Cologne Carnival, Mo-Torres was one of the celebrities in the Rose Monday parade. The Cologne native also accompanied the band Cat Ballou at numerous concerts. He could be seen in the Kölnarena and in well-known Cologne venues such as the Sartory-Säle, the Palladium and the Gürzenich.

His album Strahlemann reached number 5 in the album charts in 2021. Since then, the Cologne native has released various new songs, including Green Flags and songs such as Puzzleteil with Nico Gomez and 180 KMH. Mo-Torres has also played at several festivals in Germany, including Parookaville and Summerjam.
