About the orchestra:

The ODEON Youth Symphony Orchestra Munich - that's over 70 young musicians between the ages of 15 and 25. We discover the diverse and exciting world of classical music at a high artistic level.

Since its foundation in 2006, the ODEON has developed a wide-ranging repertoire in weekly rehearsals with four programs a year under the artistic direction of conductor Julio Doggenweiler Fernández.

The ODEON has been an official sponsor orchestra of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra since 2010. The close contact with the professional musicians enables us to work together in an artistically enriching way, not only at rehearsals, but also at the regular joint "sponsorship concerts" in the Munich Philharmonic Hall in the Gasteig.

The orchestra regularly demonstrates its high level of musicianship at concerts in Munich and the surrounding area, as well as abroad. Concert tours have already taken the young orchestra to Hungary, Serbia, Italy and Budapest, as well as to Chile in 2008 and 2012 and China in 2018.

The ODEON has already won a number of first prizes at national and international competitions, such as the German Orchestra Competition in 2008 and 2016, the Bavarian Orchestra Competition in 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019, the "Summa cum laude" competition in Vienna in 2009 and the "Orchestra Competition of the European Music Festival for Youth" in Neerpelt, Belgium, in 2013.
