The Potsdam Orchestra Week is a special orchestra retreat on the picturesque Potsdam-Hermannswerder peninsula. Around 70-75 amateur musicians from near and far always come together here in the first week of the summer holidays to rehearse a concert program under expert guidance. After five days of intensive rehearsals, we give concerts at four different venues in Potsdam and the surrounding area. Our orchestra is much more than an ordinary amateur orchestra - it offers the unique opportunity to perform the rehearsed program four times. Making music in the midst of the beautiful Havell landscape is pure idyll, and the diversity of the participants - from 14-year-old schoolgirls to 80-year-old seniors - makes our community unique. Since 1976, the orchestra week has been associated with the Protestant Hoffbauer Foundation and offers space for musicians of all levels of experience who feel up to our demanding repertoire.
