Rike Van Kleef

In the artist's words:

Rike van Kleef is a cultural worker and author with a clear compass. She has found her professional home at concerts and festivals, among other places.

Influenced by her own experiences of discrimination as a queer woman in a heavily male-dominated industry, the music industry, she first co-founded the fæmm association and then wrote a large number of texts, some of them award-winning, on the topics of culture, feminism and discrimination.

In 2022, she published her academic study "Wer gibt hier den Ton an. On the representation of gender on German entertainment music festival stages." She is currently writing her debut non-fiction book, which will be published in spring 2025.
