Scholastika Jazz Orchestra

In the artist's words:

Due to increasing demand, the Scholastika Jazz Orchestra was formed in the summer semester of 2016 as the second big band line-up under the umbrella of the Akademischer Gesangverein München. We dropped the founding name AGV Big Band II in summer 2019 to call ourselves after our rehearsal venue, the venerable Scholastika in Ledererstraße. Those familiar with the Latin language will have noticed that we have literally chosen "the learner" as our name donor, and not without reason: true to the motto "progress, not perfection", we are aimed at motivated players who do not necessarily have experience in jazz but are willing to develop further. The band unites pupils, students and some young professionals.
