In the artist's words:

Jane Yaleagme Schüler is a Black, queer and genderfluid multimedia artist from Cologne. Growing up in a white family with German, Polish and Cuban influences, Jane's artistic expression is as diverse as the artist herself. Through a variety of mediums, including canvas and skin, Jane explores personal experiences of identity, racism, classism, sexism, family, mental health and love.

Jane began drawing at a young age, which would develop into a love of illustration and acrylic painting over the following years, leading Jane to study Media Design. The degree culminated in the publication of Jane's first children's book "Charlie and the Move", an illustrated story that tells the first days at school of black, non-binary child Charlie. The book was nominated for the Cologne Design Award in 2020.

After graduating, Jane worked as an illustrator on various projects, but the learning and training never stopped. As an inquisitive person, Jane developed independently and self-taught in various fields of interest and started tattooing, among other things. Under the name @tattoo.queeren, Jane quickly made a name for herself as a tattoo artist and still immortalizes numerous illustrations on the skin of many customers today. Jane also provides information about proper tattoo care and speaks openly about racist prejudices in the tattoo scene. Jane was interviewed about this by DIE ZEIT, among others.
