The French pianist Yannick Rafalimanana can look back on a remarkable international career with performances as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe, the USA, South America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. He has performed in venues such as the Berlin Philharmonie, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Chamber Hall, the Vienna Konzerthaus, Jordan Hall with the Borromeo String Quartet, the Kennedy Center in Washington and many other renowned concert halls.
Born in Lille, France, Yannick Rafalimanana began his musical studies at the Conservatoire National de Région there with Alain Raës. He later studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris and graduated with honors in piano, piano accompaniment and chamber music. Further studies took him to the New England Conservatory, where he completed a diploma in piano accompaniment and a master's degree in chamber music in Vivian Weilerstein's class.
From 2015 to 2018, Yannick Rafalimanana taught chamber music at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen.
Since June 2022, he has been performing as host and pianist for his specially founded format "Yannicks Salon" at the Peter Edel Education and Cultural Center. The debut took place as part of the Fête de la Musique 2022 in Berlin.
