Winter and Christmas markets in Berlin 2024

The onset of winter in Berlin means magical markets and unforgettable experiences! Whether it's an all-you-can-drink Christmas market on the Spree or ice skating in the Zenner Wintergarten, even in the big city you can get that idyllic Christmas feeling. This winter you can be active, creative and, above all, inspired by workshops, exhibitions and performances on the theme of winter and Christmas. Fancy a Christmas burlesque show? Or would you prefer an X-Mas clothes swap? Once again, Berlin has everything but the ordinary to offer: Even the last Christmas grouch will find something here!

You're spoiled for choice, because there are more markets, workshops and concerts in Berlin in winter than you can fit into your week. But don't worry, we have the hottest tips for sipping mulled wine, making an Advent wreath and ice skating in Berlin. For culture vultures, there's the Winter Film Festival in the Nikolai Quarter, so if you've never watched "Feuerzangenbowle", you've come to the right place. For some new short film impressions, you absolutely have to go to the Christmas film festival: QUEER XMAS SHORTS at Moviemento. Then head to the Qweer Winter Market at the Hotel Berlin. Or you could head to the Philharmonie for a fun evening of Christmas with the Thalbachs. If you still need to practise baking cookies, the Christmas baking course at Goldhahn and Sampson is the right place for you. Creative crafters are also in demand elsewhere: at the Museum of European Cultures, you can make cards for your loved ones at the Open Christmas Workshop. Afterwards, perhaps the exhibition on "Christmas with all the senses" is something for you? Quiet and idyllic is all well and good, but even in winter it's time to celebrate and let the party cannon out. Party animals can head to the ice disco in the Zenner Wintergarten and then onto Christmas Avenue in time for the Aperol-O-Clock. After a few mulled wines, you can then give your best performance of "Last Christmas" at the singalong event in the Frannz Club. With these tips, you'll hopefully be well equipped to enjoy a bit of free time between the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle and New Year's resolutions!
