10 Jahre zwischen/miete: Ruth-Maria Thomas, Olga Hohmann, Lilli Polansky

For ten years now, the reading series "zwischen/miete" at the Literaturhaus Stuttgart has been inviting people to readings in different shared flats and to talk to young authors between cushions and pretzels. To mark its anniversary, the zwischen/miete team is planning a special edition featuring three up-and-coming German-language authors:

Ruth-Maria Thomas, born and raised in Cottbus in 1993, presents "Die schönste Version", an impressive debut novel about becoming and being a woman, about bodies, desire and deep abysses. In her texts, which appear in radio and magazines, she repeatedly deals with the pitfalls of female socialization. In her story & lecture performance "In deinem rechten Auge wohnt der Teufel" (The Devil Lives in Your Right Eye), Olga Hohmann, born in 1992, places her protagonist in situations in which she is overcome by strong emotions - even though she has become accustomed to swallowing, subsuming and suppressing them. In her debut novel "Gratulieren musst ihr mir nicht", author Lilli Polansky, born in Vienna in 2001, uses humor to tell the poignant story of a young woman who, just as she is finding her way into life, has to face death.

Dance and celebrate to the melodic sound of Stuttgart-based Immi Bakes, inspired by 90s house, soul and jazz.
