After the Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra paid tribute to Anton Bruckner in the first Philharmonic concert of its 200th season, they are also dedicating the first 5nachsechs concert to a composer with a round birthday: Bedřich Smetana, who was also born in 1824. His most famous work, Moldau, is one of six symphonic poems that the composer dedicated to his native Czech Republic. Smetana gave the cycle of works the title Má vlast - My Fatherland. To mark Smetana's 200th birthday, the Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra will perform the first three tone poems from Má vlast.
Duration of the concert: approx. 1 hour.
