In collaboration with Bunt oder Blau, we can look forward to an energetic evening of freshly brewed 70s funk jazz by Butcher Brown with support from local heroes Dammnation.

"Solar Music". That's what the 5 musicians from Richmond Virginia call their music. There is no better way to describe this great mixture of jazz, hip-hop, funk, R[&]B and soul. Butcher Brown's music sounds like an entire solar system in which time and space somehow function differently than here on earth. Music in which past, present and future exist side by side at the same moment.

Butcher Brown is deeply rooted in the musical tradition of the American South, from South Coast rap to Southern rock, and incorporates a wide range of inspirations into their sound. Her style combines raw energy with a playful ease and improvisational joy.

Support act: DAMMNATION

The local funkalleros from DAMMNATION have made a real name for themselves in the region. Driving, honest, instrumental funk that makes you push your lips forward, makes you groove, loosens the dam and simply lets the energy flow. Dammnation is music for perineal massage. With a nod in the direction of The Meters and the late Grant Green. One moment we're dancing and sweating in a club somewhere in New York that's far too cramped and the air far too stuffy, the next we're sitting on the west coast of Sardinia, drinking Campari Spritz with a slice of lemon, gazing dreamily into the sunset and humming schmaltzy Italian songs about love.
