The exhibition "3410KM / 70 DAYS / 11 COUNTRIES" shows photographs of a bicycle trip from Munich to Cappadocia in central Turkey. In July 2023, Laurin (21) set off alone and armed with his camera. His journey took him through Germany, Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, North Macedonia, Greece and finally Turkey. Along the way, he pointed his camera at everything he came across: landscapes, places, animals and, above all, the people he met. Laurin always wanted to photograph places and people as he saw them. Away from tourist attractions and plastic worlds, he focused his camera on the inconspicuous, small moments and everyday situations. Taking unposed and authentic pictures is the most important thing for him. The photographer associates almost every picture with a special story, a personal memory.
THE ARTIST:
LAURIN BACHER, 22 years old, comes from Munich and trained as a photographer after leaving school. During his training, he learned above all that family and wedding photography was not for him. However, photography itself grabbed him and he quickly found things that he enjoyed. Like many, he loves to observe people. That's exactly what he does with his camera. Not planning anything, but trying things out usually works best. He walks through the streets looking for something that appeals to him or in which he sees something special and unique. Then the challenge is to take a photo before his subject notices him and tenses up because of the camera or stops working. He then gets into conversation with many of them and these encounters are usually very positive, but sometimes he unfortunately has to delete the picture again. (Source: Artist)
