A Stripper's Closet

In the organizer's words:

Sex workers are everywhere. They are among us, but they try to remain unrecognized. "A Stripper's Closet" is an exception: an evening full of stories and striptease.

In their new piece, the five performers talk about boredom, happiness, lust, community and the art of paying the rent. They share with you the little lies that decide between success and failure at 5 o'clock in the morning. The five former and current members of the Berlin Strippers Collective weave a web of stories, situations and surprises that invite laughter and reflection. Their lived experiences offer insight into a business that is often condemned and rarely understood.

Alice La Douce, Mia Onacid, Shayla, Calypso Storm, Edie Montana and River Roux create performances that are written, directed and produced exclusively by sex workers. In doing so, they reclaim their own stories and provide an insight into their unique perspectives on work, stigma and community.

Following the performances, we offer an audience discussion with the actors. You are cordially invited.
