Ada Oda

Ada Oda 's music is reminiscent of the boldness of 1980s post-punk and the melodic charm of Italian pop. The project was created in 2020 by César Laloux (The Tellers, BRNS), who met Victoria Barracato on Tinder. When he noticed the Italian origin of her name, he suggested Victoria sing his songs in Italian. She accepted the challenge.
Un Amore Debole, the band's first album (Nov. 2022, 62TV/PIAS), brings together ten pop songs that were created from deliberately sparse demos (drum machine, guitar and melody). On this album, César describes, sometimes with a touch of irony, his vision of love and the people around him. His lyrics are first translated into Italian and then adapted by Victoria. Especially in Italy, titles such as 'Un Amore Debole' or 'Niente da Offrire' become minor hits.

On stage, the duo is accompanied by Clément Marion on bass (David Numwami, Judith Kiddo), Alex De Bueger (Gros Coeur) and Aurélien Gainetdinoff (Yolande Bashing) on guitar. The band has given over 200 concerts in around twenty countries and is known for its outstanding live performances. They have already proven this at major European festivals such as Rock en Seine, Best Kept Secret, Pukkelpop, MI AMI, ESNS and even at the renowned SXSW in Austin in 2024, where they performed outside Europe for the first time.

The second album is now set to be released on February 21. The first single 'Sotto La Conchiglia' already feels like summer in Italy. We are therefore delighted that Ada Oda will be coming to the beautiful Nachtasyl on April 24. Arrividerci!
