The African Vocals, an a cappella group from the townships of Swakopmund/Namibia, will perform for the third time at the Schlachthof cultural center in Bremen on 1 June 2024.
The band now consists of 15 singers aged between 20 and 32, 8 of whom take part in tours to Germany. After tours of Germany in 2014, 2017 and 2019, the African Vocals also had a long forced break due to the coronavirus, with a canceled tour of Germany and the loss of engagements and contracts. With a lot of courage and perseverance, the group overcame these challenges and, with the help of friends and fans, ventured and carried out another six-week tour of Germany in 2023. There was so much enthusiasm from the audience and the organizers, and an urgent request from many to come back in 2024. The African Vocals will therefore be back in Germany from May 17 to July 4, 2024 and want to enchant their audience once again with their music full of African joie de vivre and spirituality.
The group sees itself as an ambassador for authentic Namibian culture, music and traditions and wants to convey a positive and hopeful image of Africa. They sing about their love for Namibia, the beauty of nature, love and everyday life. African Vocals concerts are full of dynamism, rhythm and emotion. The wonderful voices are complemented by percussion and the appropriate choreography, and the interaction of the artists with the audience makes an African Vocals concert unforgettable.
