Dr. Asfa-Wossen Asserate is the great-nephew of the last Ethiopian emperor. He has lived in Germany for five decades, worked for the Düsseldorf trade fair company and is now a management consultant, primarily involved in cooperation projects between Africa and Europe. His message is that Africa is not only the continent with the youngest population in the world - the markets of the future are also growing there. What social, economic and political goals do people in Africa have and what role do sustainability and the rule of law play in this? Why are there always fundamental economic and cultural obstacles to German-African projects?

At the same time, Dr. Asserate is a clever, critical and humorous observer of our German society. His latest book "Deutsch vom Scheitel bis zur Sohle" is a "walk through the landscape of the German soul", arranged alphabetically from A for Autobahn to B for Bratwurst, from cuckoo clock to Waldeinsamkeit to Z for Zapfenstreich.
