Aktiv Dödshjelp

The Norwegian punk band Aktiv Dödshjelp from Oslo has built up an excellent reputation in their home country over the past few years thanks to their explosive live shows and, not least, their super melodic songs with witty and ironic lyrics. In the years since their formation in 2007, the band has toured non-stop at home and abroad and can now finally present an album that their fans have long been demanding.

The band was founded by school friends Jakob Schøyen Andersen (drums), Stephan Lyngved (bass), Mattis Mandt (vocals) and Anders Bergh (guitar), who initially played rock cover songs at their high school and at local parties in Oslo, living out their dream of being "rock stars". After plenty of gigs and lots of positive feedback from friends and fellow students, the teenagers decided to christen the band Aktiv Dödshjelp ("active euthanasia") and get "serious". Their mantra was "When you're ready to end your life, go to an Aktiv concert". At band rehearsals, there was only one rule: "If you can't hear yourself, just turn up the volume!", only to laugh their heads off afterwards at how deaf everyone was after the rehearsal.

Contrary to all predictions (and the threat of deafness), the band survived these times and became even more powerful with the addition of guitarist Jørgen Lundstad Sparre-Enger (Fights/Lundstad) in 2020 with his super melodic riffs and solos. Within a short time of Jørgen Lundstad Sparre-Enger's arrival, the band played sold-out shows at Oslo's Parkteatret, twice at Klubbøya, twice with the Norwegian stars of Honningbarna and various shows in Sweden. With only ten songs released to date and their energetic live shows, Aktiv Dödshjelp have gained a large fan base. The members of the band are also among the most sought-after media professionals in Norway, having produced the very popular show "Hit For Hit" on NRK (Norwegian public TV station) and music videos for the band The Good The Bad and The Zugly.

Aktiv Dödshjelp have perfected their sound since the early days and deliver the perfect mix of punk and rock on their debut album "Send Dudes". Anyone who likes Norwegian bands like Turbonegro, The Good The Bad and The Zugly and Kvelertak will love Aktiv Dödshjelp.
