"The next-generation pop storyteller" (TIME): That's Alec Benjamin from Phoenix, Arizona, who taught himself to play guitar at a young age and has since become one of today's most important singer/songwriters with his distinctive voice and insightful lyrics. Since his professional debut as an artist in 2018, his authentic and introspective approach to music and platinum hits such as "Let Me Down Slowly" and "The Book of You & I" have earned him a loyal fan base, his lyrics tell stories that young people can relate to. Alec Benjamin's ability to pack complex and sometimes painful themes of heartbreak, loss and the everyday struggles of growing up into simple but effective lyrics has already led the music press to draw comparisons with the likes of Ed Sheeran and Paul Simon. His 2020 debut album "These Two Windows" was internationally acclaimed by both critics and fans, followed in 2022 by "(Un)Commentary", an album whose uniquely personal storytelling stood out from the pop mainstream of its time and set a lasting trend. Although headlining tours have taken him around the globe, his concerts are known for an intimate and open atmosphere where stories and music blend seamlessly.
