Alex Baczyński-Jenkins: Unending love, or love dies, on repeat like it’s endless

In the organizer's words:

Note: Due to cold weather conditions, the performances will take place in the main hall of tanzhaus nrw.

What connections exist between desire, love (as communality), loss, time and dance? Through gestures and touches, dynamics and relationships between the dancers, Unending love, or love dies, on repeat like it's endless makes structures and politics of desire tangible. As a long moment of the present, the piece allows time, memory and the possibility of change to shine through. Over the course of two hours, visitors are invited to linger, stay and return.

Alex Baczyński-Jenkins is a choreographer and artist whose work explores themes of queer affect, embodiment and relationality. His artistic practice explores the structures and politics of desire through gesture, collectivity, touch and sensuality. He uses choreography to reflect on feelings, perceptions and the emergence of collectivity and to explore alternative experiences of memory, time and change. Baczyński-Jenkins is a co-founder of Kem, a queer-feminist collective based in Warsaw that focuses on choreography, performance and sound with an emphasis on social engagement.
