Alex Baczyński-Jenkins: Unending love, or love dies, on repeat like it’s endless

What connections are there between desire, love (as communality), loss, time, and dance? Unending love, or love dies, on repeat like it's endless, makes structures and policies of desire palpable via gestures and touches, dynamics and relations between the dancers. As a long moment of the present, the piece shines a light on time, remembrance, and the possibility of change. Over a duration of two hours, the audience will be invited to linger, to stay, and to return.

The performances will take place in public space in Düsseldorf. We will provide exact location data at the beginning of October here. In case of inclement weather, the performances will relocate to the Great Hall at tanzhaus nrw.

Alex Baczyński-Jenkins is a choreographer and artist who explores themes of queer affect, embodiment and relationality in his works. His artistic practice investigates the structures and politics of desire through gestures, collectivity, touch and sensuality. Relationality is central in his works. He uses choreography to reflect on feelings, perceptions, and collective emergence, exploring alternative experiences of memory, time, and change. Baczyński-Jenkins co-founded Kem, a Warsaw-based queer feminist collective focused on choreography, performance, and sound, with an emphasis on social engagement.

The performances will take place in public spaces in Düsseldorf. We will inform you about the exact location here from the beginning of October. In case of bad weather, the performances will take place in the main hall of tanzhaus nrw.
