In their duo, pianist Alexander Hawkins and clarinettist Marco Colonna dedicate themselves to the music of Eric Dolphy. They delve deep into the diverse repertoire of the American multi-instrumentalist and interpret his compositional idea of finding a common point between jazz and contemporary classical music of the 20th century in their own very special way: from Africa to Europe, via Braxton and Misha Mengelberg. Both musicians have received numerous international awards and are among the most important representatives of European contemporary jazz. They know each other from various projects, including Roberto Ottaviano's Eternal Love Quintet.
"Indeed, Eric Dolphy could not be in better hands and heads."
