When Alice lands in a parallel world on an ordinary afternoon, nothing is as it was - and suddenly anything is possible. Not enough that Alice is constantly shrinking and growing again thanks to various miracle potions, until she hardly knows who she actually is. Suddenly all the other creatures can speak: The white rabbit thinks Alice is her maid, the stern caterpillar has various pieces of advice in store, and at five o'clock tea, which is repeated in an endless loop, every answer Alice gives elicits even more absurd conclusions from the snarky tea party. Alice bravely makes her way through this wondrously bizarre but also frightening world, confronting its absurdities with a cool head. Far removed from all social or educational norms, Lewis Caroll's young heroine masters all challenges with childlike, unbiased judgment and experiences the most fantastic adventures in the process.
Director Nele Lindemann, who has already brought the fast-paced robber Hotzenplotz to the stage at the Junges Staatstheater, creates a colorful world full of new games and ludicrous rules together with Alice.
