In October 2020, one of the largest pharmaceutical producers in the USA was sentenced to billions in fines. The pharmaceutical dynasty of the Sackler family goes back 70 years in history and came to a surprising end with the break-up of their company "Purdue Pharma". In this documentary, director Laura Poitras revisits the history of the oxycodone producer and focuses specifically on the case of artist Nan Goldin, who protested for years against the Sackler family and the opioid crisis in the United States.
