Mumbai at night, neon lights flicker past the train in which nurse Prabha is traveling home after her shift. She lives with her colleague Anu, as Prabha's husband has long since disappeared to Germany. Anu, on the other hand, is secretly in love with a young Muslim man. When the two of them accompany a colleague to her hometown by the sea, the women finally find something like peace. Payal Kapadia's atmospherically dense story about female longing and solidarity won the Grand Jury Prize in Cannes this year.
