Amiko Li "Soft Target"

Opening on Friday, June 19, at 6 pm at Künstlerhaus Dortmund

Amiko Li (China/USA) presents the solo exhibition "Soft Target" at the end of the four-week summer residency at the Künslterhaus Dortmund.

A "soft target" is a person, object or place that is unprotected and vulnerable to attacks, such as military strikes or terrorist attacks. Amiko Li poses the question of who the "soft target" is in an art context. What attributes make a soft target? Perhaps it is genuine affection, personal stories, the language of everyday life or sincerity. Maybe it's better to hide behind the armor of theory or abstraction; maybe some people hide because their stories just aren't that interesting.

The exhibition will be Amiko Li's first solo presentation in Germany.
