Dear audience,
Andrew Andrews and "The Sophisticated Orchestra" invite you on a musical journey back in time to the 1920s and 30s.
This evening is dedicated to the beginning of the swing and jazz era in Germany; a time when people danced and sang to jazz music as a matter of course and the swing rhythm inexorably penetrated into Stuttgart's living rooms
Even though jazz had to make the long journey across the Atlantic from America, and today we still look up first to the metropolises of the time such as New York or Berlin when it comes to the glamorous 1920s and 30s, Stuttgart was also an important liberal center of entertainment, innovation and joie de vivre at that time.
Let yourself be whisked away to the carefree world of cafés, variety shows and jazz clubs, and enjoy the lifestyle of swing, Charleston and late nights.
In addition to the Stuttgart singer and violinist Linda Kyei, Andrew Andrews has been able to attract four other top-class guests from Germany for this program:
The singer Karolina Trybala from Leipzig. She shuttles confidently between the worlds and moves virtuously between avant-garde and entertainment.
Björn Christian Kuhn from Berlin is a permanent member of the Hauptstadt Tenöre and also a member of the Renitenz Ensemble (Renitenztheater Stuttgart)!
Richard Herfeld commutes between Europe and America. But he is always happy to visit us in the Swabian metropolis. Herfeld is not only a gifted singer, but also an equally gifted storyteller.
Barbarella Bling will introduce you to "burlesque", or as some call it, "beauty dance", and remind you of the glamorous times when even Josephine Baker made guest appearances in Stuttgart.
Dear audience, get dressed up. Prepare yourself from head to toe for great music and entertainment. Enjoy an evening of jazz and swing that will make the hearts of the proudest women (and men) beat faster.
