Antje Velsinger / new trouble – GOODBYE / FAREWELL

What do we have to say goodbye to in the face of the climate crisis? What conditions and practices enable us to allow change? What role does the body play in this?

With GOODBYE / FAREWELL, Antje Velsinger / new trouble go in search of how transformation becomes possible. Choreographic strategies of saying goodbye are interwoven with stories of loss and rituals that question people's place in the world. The dancers wrestle with their archetypes of repression and repeatedly try to discard habitual ways of acting. The inner turmoil between wanting to hold on and having to let go becomes the tangible driving force behind their journey. Time and again, spaces open up in which grief can be admitted and shared. The audience is invited to enter these spaces together with the performers and to look out for moments in which change begins.

GOODBYE / FAREWELL is the second part of the trilogy FUTURE RELATIONS, a choreographic exploration of sustainable relationships in the context of the climate crisis.

The interdisciplinary productions by Antje Velsinger / new trouble are dedicated to current socio-political challenges. Their productions are based on extensive research in which they initiate exchanges with actors from other social and scientific fields. Their current series FUTURE RELATIONS focuses on the search for sustainable relationships in the context of the climate crisis. The stage productions by Antje Velsinger / new trouble make the experiences of the intensive research tangible in a poetic way. They design temporary escape strategies and fictitious retreats and test alternative ways of dealing with the challenges of our time. The core artistic team of Antje Velsinger/ new trouble consists of Heike Bröckerhoff (dramaturgy), Julia Krause (sound), Danja Burchard (creative production), Annalena Berger/transmissions (financial dramaturgy) and Antje Velsinger (artistic direction & choreography).
