Comedy by Joseph Kesselring
The well-known theater critic Mortimer discovers that his two aunts Abby and Martha have a strange "hobby": They poison elderly, single gentlemen with arsenic to make it easier for them to say goodbye to life and have them buried in the cellar by Mortimer's deranged brother Teddy. And now, of all times, Mortimer's other brother Jonathan, a wanted murderer, comes up with the idea of paying his old aunts a visit - with another corpse in his luggage....
The way Mortimer tries to keep his aunts' murderous hobby a secret from the police and his criminal brother Jonathan is great fun for the audience. Theater Courage has transformed the classic stage play from the 1940s into an upbeat, fast-paced version. PREDICATE: FUNNY!
"Arsenic and Lace" is the mother of all black comedies. Funny, turbulent and bitterly evil. This slapstick fun is recommended (not only) for anyone with a skeleton in the closet!
