Sisters Abby and Martha Brewster are two lovely old ladies who live in a mansion in Brooklyn, don't like scary movies and invite the vicar over for afternoon tea. But when their nephew Mortimer accidentally discovers the dead body of Mr. Hoskins in the chest in their living room, Abby and Martha are forced to confess a secret: Mr. Hoskins is the eleventh man they have redeemed from a lonely existence on earth with a tried and tested mixture of elderberry wine, arsenic, strychnine and cyanide. The gentlemen are buried - not without a proper service - by Mortimer's very strange brother Teddy. Mortimer is horrified. Should he hand his aunts over to the police? Where should he put Mr. Hoskins? And what does he tell Elaine, his fiancée? That evening, of all nights, the third Brewster nephew Jonathan turns up at the villa - with another corpse in his luggage.

The famous comedy, which premiered on Broadway in 1941 to huge acclaim, is a timeless classic of black humor with two unforgettable leading actresses.
