What you can expect:

At this ArtNight, you will discover the basics of abstract portrait painting and learn how to best use the palette knife technique with a pastose application of paint. In an abstract portrait, the subject is reduced to important details in order to emphasize certain characteristics. Which detail do you focus on?

What you will learn:

Acrylic:

Acrylic paint is a real all-rounder! It can be applied thinly to achieve watercolor effects and thickly to achieve high color intensity. It can be diluted with water, dries quickly, is odorless and waterproof when dry.

Layering:

Layering is one of the most basic painting techniques, in which a layer of paint is applied on top of an already dried layer. The bottom layer is usually the largest part of the painting, the top layers are smaller and are used to add depth, detail and shadow to the painting.

Wet-on-wet:

The wet-on-wet technique involves working quickly to directly continue the paint that has just been applied while it is still wet or to spread it with another layer of paint. It can be used to create beautiful organic and soft color transitions.

- 2 flat brushes
