The festival is growing and becoming better known from year to year, as can be seen from the applications. Over 530 artists from all over the world applied for this year's artspace bremerhaven. With the support of Kai Kähler (former director of the Kunsthalle Bremerhaven, currently director of the Historisches Museum Bremerhaven) and Dorothee Starke (head of the Cultural Office Bremerhaven), the organization team selected and invited around 40 artists from this large number. Each time, this selection is an exciting grab bag that visitors can look forward to. The artists create art spaces in unusual locations, where they face challenges on site and invite visitors to talk, exchange ideas and sometimes even join in.
