With an extraordinary program and breathtaking virtuosity, the Astor Trio combines the styles of baroque, classical, tango and Spanish music. The prominent line-up within the Cologne Classical Ensemble has played its way into the elite of German chamber music and also performs in special programs with cellist Lena Kravets. This is also the case in this concert, which focuses on the 250th anniversary of François de Fossa.
The French guitarist and contemporary of Mozart composed outstanding works for chamber music ensembles with guitar. His Trio Concertante, op. 18 and the Sonata in D major HWV 371 by George Frideric Handel will introduce the two halves of the concert. This will be followed by the German premiere of Parmis le vent by Parisian composer Mathias Duplessy, a delicate French Romantic piece. And as part of our © NRW focus, the Astore Trio will perform the Buenos Aires Fantasias I and II by Tobias Kassung. All this, combined with the Spanish music of Pablo de Sarasate and the artful tango works of Astor Piazzolla, promises an unforgettable concert evening.
