He crosses borders between cultures, continents and contrasting musical worlds: South African cellist and composer Abel Selaocoe. In an impressively unconventional way, he combines virtuoso performance with improvisation, singing and body percussion and moves effortlessly through genres and styles. In 2023, he was awarded the Opus Klassik in the category "Classical music without borders" for his musical work. "A radiantly talented cellist and a one-man band", The Telegraph called him.

Abel Selaocoe now lives up to this praise once again when he comes to the Isarphilharmonie with the no less unconventional Aurora Orchestra, bringing his own composition with him: "Four Spirits", a musical homage to his homeland. Selaocoe could not have chosen a more fitting partner than the Aurora Orchestra: The ensemble stands for unmistakable creative standards and innovative programs, but above all it is one of the few orchestras in the world that also performs works by heart and standing up! Even Beethoven's 7th Symphony without sheet music is no problem for the ensemble - and a unique concert experience for the audience!
