On January 11, 2023, the eviction of the occupied village of Lützerath in the lignite mining area at the Garzweiler open-cast mine began. The police had announced in advance that they were aiming for a peaceful eviction and had therefore defined the guiding principle of "de-escalation through transparency and communication" for their operation. This work about destruction and resistance accompanies the eviction from the first police contacts on January 8 to the demonstration and the end of the eviction on January 14.
