Balkan Spirit Ensemble - World Music, Folk, Balkan and Jazz
The Balkan Spirit Ensemble is the musical exchange of two different musical languages - that of Balkan folk songs and that of modern jazz music. The melodic strength and vitality of these songs are translated by the ensemble into a contemporary musical language. Thus, well-known and less well-known songs from all over the Balkans are represented in a new sound format, embellished with jazz, classical, polyrhythmic and oriental sounds. In addition to arrangements of traditional Balkan songs, the repertoire of the Balkan Spirit Ensemble is also enriched by their own compositions, which unfold in this style.
International musicians have been invited to the Balkan Spirit Ensemble project to contribute to the unique sound of the ensemble with their original interpretations. The Balkan Spirit Ensemble will bring this newly developed musical language to the audience and take them on a musical journey in which the warmth and vitality of Balkan folklore and the rhythmic and harmonic colors of contemporary music create a unique experience.
