Hot air balloons the size of city blocks, colorfully illustrated with saints or motifs from pop culture float through Brazil's skies. Illegally. They are created by "baloeiros" from the favelas, some of whom work on their creations for years, always pursued by the police or threatened by rival groups who might turn them in. Danish filmmaker Sissel Morell Dargis has succeeded in immersing herself in this secret world. Her documentary action film celebrates the desire for spectacle and the hunt for fame.
