BBC UNCLASSIFIED LIVE
What do Hania Rani, Brandt Brauer Frick and Richard Reed Parry have in common? Although they are all classically trained musicians, they have developed their artistic work in their own unique way: Richard Reed Parry is a musical border crosser who condenses folk music, instrumental textures in the style of Arcade Fire and neoclassical arrangements into a hypnotic soundscape. The composer and pianist Hania Rani combines virtuoso piano playing and an impressive voice with electronic sounds and elements of ambient, electronic and jazz. Brandt Brauer Frick unite repetitive and grooving formulas of electronic dance music with the sound world of contemporary classical music to create an irresistible dancefloor sound. On this evening, the musicians will perform works specially arranged for our orchestra. The evening will be hosted by Elizabeth Alker, presenter of the well-known music program "Unclassified" on BBC Radio 3. In keeping with this, the stage will become a radio studio and the audience will be part of a radio show that will be recorded and broadcast by the BBC.
