The concert guitar is rare in jazz. Philipp Schiepek is one of the few jazz guitarists who find special expression and beauty of sound on the acoustic instrument. To do so, he taps into sources ranging from Bach to the present day. In November 2024, GLM will release a new album with music that Schiepek has composed especially for the concert guitar. And that is exactly what he is now presenting at Be My Guest.

BE MY GUEST #11
Tradition ahead!
At a time when jazz legends such as Sonny Rollins and Roy Haynes are approaching 100, it is noticeable that some of the younger jazz generation are consciously engaging with the tradition of improvised music. The 11th Be My Guest season presents predominantly young people who have already left the label "talent" behind them. Look forward to seven concerts with youthful vigor and conscious reference to the great, rich past of jazz!
