Bernd Begemann & Die Befreiung

In the organizer's words:

Sometime in 2003, Bernd Begemann started looking for a new band. The new band was not to be the 4th edition of "Antwort", but something completely new. Accordingly, a new name was needed. After some back and forth, the line-up and new name were finalized in March 2004: "Bernd Begemann & die Befreiung"

Since then, the four musicians have merged into a real band. From the very beginning, Achim Erz (drums), Ben Schadow (bass) and Kai Dohrenkamp (keyboards) were more than just an accompanying combo: at every gig, they liberate Bernd's songs anew.

While Bernd's solo concerts are legendary for their stories and tales, in which the singer and guitarist gets entangled again and again until you almost forget that you are actually in the middle of a song, the performances with the band are real rock concerts: you can dance!

"Moderigt ist das neue Radikal" is the second single from the current album "Milieu" after "Scheiße Mann, echt jetzt...?!?". "It's like this now: the bourgeoisie have tasted the punk rock feeling and can't handle it. That's why they vote for Nazis and deny global epidemics. Bernd Begemann and die Befreiung think that we have to stand up to this. Or as the little boy in Terminator 2 so aptly says: "Let's get a little constructive again, please, mom." Or as this new song itself says: "Improvement comes slowly/step by step/I know that sounds lame/but go with it".
