Hans Reidel's Big 9 cultivates the early big band jazz of the 20s and 30s. They play their own arrangements, which are modeled on the spirit of the time.

The roots of the group, with 9 musicians aged between 84 and 27, go back to 1978. The group has repeatedly attracted attention with changing line-ups and different names, including participation in the KnoffHoff show on ZDF,

In its current line-up, the group re-formed in 2014 after a "creative break" and has already performed five times in the old Gasteig.

Since 2020, the band has played in public once a month.
